Oh so this is the sad sap who thinks that an actual human should look like a skinny, shapeless, cartoon character. Hope is a stunning and beautiful cosplayer. You just wish you could even get glance at another woman like her. For you to come and make such a rude remark is baffling. I have seen her in real life and let me tell you she looked absolutely amazing. Now go home you little twat. Good luck finding a girl 1/10 as awesome as Hope with that attitude.

Lol at everyone getting mad at honest and obvious criticis. You guys are so pathetic sometimes... stop jumping to the defense of these women when it's so obviously uncalled for, they aren't going to sleep with you.

You may be being honest, but you are just being plain rude. You are being uncalled for. I am defending a wonderful girl who works her ass off to be as accurate as humanly possible to a made up 2D character. And what do you get for trashing a person? Bragging rights? A little booty from someone who thinks you are cute for being a pitiful person? Or a little attention to comfort your lonely evenings?

No forget it. Just keep being an asshat. Hope, go ahead and block this guy. He is obviously trying to get everyone panties in a twist. Graduations man. You are an asshat.

P.S. If I were bi, sure I would want to sleep with Hope. But we both have amazing boyfriends so that ends that.

ha ha! yes "Hope", take orders from this zeo41 girl. Allow her childish emotions to turn what was an honest critique into some sort of feminist issue.

What is "asshat"? Why is it that the only people I've heard say "asshat" are ugly social pariahs? Like, the totally friendless types?

This is so funny how upset you are. This isn't Dr. Phil. This isn't some feel good daytime TV special where ugly women are told they're beautiful and deformed children are told they're special. Just get the fuck over it. Someone is a little bit fat. Ooh no!! I have to actively pretend she's NOT fat and that she's somehow more beautiful and real than someone who happens not to be fat. How sad is that? Stop pitying her, it's awfully... prejudiced, really. It's an active prejudice to imagine that the fat somehow need your pity and outspoken support and protection. You're not better than her for being thin, you know.

She's a drawing of a human (or a vampire, whatever). Homer Simpson is fat. He was drawn to be fat. Marceline was drawn skinny.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Surely, you can't be stupid enough to claim that because she's drawn she can't look skinny or something...

She's a drawing of a species that doesn't exist, and drawn in a highly stylized format.

Surely you can't be stupid enough to claim that any person should actually have the proportions of an Adventure Time character given that Marceline's head is wider than her chest.

"drawn in a highly stylized format"
ha ha lol

As if everything drawn isn't "highly stylized". My Simpsons point stands, and you know it, retard.

Why are you mad someone acknowledged someone else was fat? Don't pretend you didn't notice how hilariously fat she was for the character. It's not like when a deformed toddler dresses up for Halloween and you have to tell them what a "scary" dinosaur they are, when in reality it's the least scary they've ever - or will ever - look. It's not like that because she chose to be fat. THAT'S OKAY. It's her body, her choice. Why are we pretending she isn't fat? It's like pretending a Goth isn't a Goth, or like an Anime Fan isn't an Anime Fan. They all choose these characters in real, every day life. And they choose to maintain them. She's not secretly a thin girl cosplaying as a slightly pudgy girl, she's IRL pudgy cosplaying as a skinny girl. I'm just saying that needs some work. She's free to go comment advice on my photos, but I'm critiquing her cosplay performance here. Ever heard of an art site? We critique here. I can't effectively draw Michael Jordan if I draw him Chinese, can I? She can't accurately portray a thin character while being fat.

It's really that simple.

No, if she wanted critique she would have clicked the box asking for critique when she uploaded the photo. Do you not know how Deviantart works? But you can keep throwing around insults if you wish, it really makes your intelligence level sparkle--seeing as you don't even know the difference between forcing your opinion on someone and critiquing them.

And to call Hopie fat, you must truly be blind and to take the time out of your day to leave such a rude comment just shows that you obviously have nothing better to do. Why don't you go out and try and make some friends instead of being such a troll?

Haha, no. As soon as you upload something to an art site, you open yourself up to critique.

Go pick your bleeding heart up off the floor, get your naive and childish emotions in check, and then come talk to me.

Nope, not how that shit works. Why would they have a critique option when you upload if it's something that's supposed to automatically happen anyway.

I'm about 90% sure you don't cosplay and offer nothing to the cosplay community, so you really have no right to judge anyone. Gender, Weight, Race or Height should hold no bearing when someone chooses a character to cosplay. Cosplay is about the love of the series and bringing that to life. We don't get payed to do this, this isn't some film where we look to cast the perfect character. This is something we, as cosplayers, spend our own money and time doing. So get off your high horse, you ignorant pig.

It isn't. I guess I don't understand why it's rude. She knows she's a bit heavy, abd she stays heavy by choice. I hope no one here will claim it's out of her control, that would be embarassing for them.

Why hide it? Why pretend we don't notice? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being fat - if you want to be fat, do it. I don't care. It's like telling Stephen Hawking he's handicapped. He knows.

Art especially cartoons have caricature type bodies that are out of proportion when compared to an actual human body so no one is built like that (with their legs being the same thickness as their arms in real life... unless they have a disease or something horribly wrong with them. As well as when someone "cosplays" something they are then turning something "fake" into something "real" which would then cause it to go through a few slight changes making it realistic. So yes Marceline would probably look something like Hopie does here in adulthood. Yes Marceline is also skinny, but Hopie is too (I mean heck just go through the rest of her gallery...) Some girls/people in general can be very thin and almost cartoon like (probably not that healthy either unless your on drugs or anorexic)... moral to the story real women have curves that's part of growing up its natural and that's what happens to the majority of average people, yes though some people do sometimes have an extremely high metabolism and look like twigs even into puberty/adulthood...though still they aren't cartoons and wouldn't look much like the Adventure Time style (if you want that you might as well date a cardboard cut out haha). Little girls on the other hand don't have curves (just look to the Left of the picture if you don't believe me).

Haha uhh actually I don't know that I'm "a bit heavy." I guess my sarcasm didn't read well enough on my first reply to you. I'm curvy, and fine with it. Marceline and a lot of the AT characters have noodles for bodies, and no person, even super thin girls, can physically look like that. But if it makes you feel better to try and point out that I'm not the size of my wrist all over my body, then have at it, sir!

No, I don't care how you look. I'm just saying this isn't your role. People may not be exactly as thin as those characters, but there are lots of them who come a lot closer than you do.

See my Larry Bird point in my previous reply.

It doesn't matter what she chooses or doesn't have the control to choose. It's not hiding it. It's not pretending. It's none of your business! Of all the things you could say about the photo, you focus on the one thing that she already knows quite well. Not only that, but you basically said she shouldn't be cosplaying the character with your comparison. So she's no longer allowed to have fun and enjoy her hobby.

That's what makes it rude.

"So she's no longer allowed to have fun and enjoy her hobby."
Ha ha. Okay so if I'm terrible at tennis, everybody should just let me win every game and tell me how great I am at it? Come on. When people come up short, you should tell them so they can improve. You don't have to pity her - she doesn't need your pity. She's just a little heavy, you're the one making an issue of it. It's a fact, she's too big to cosplay as her. But what do you do? "SHE'S NOT FAT SHE'S BEAUTIFUL BLAH BLAH TUMBLR" Dude. Like, really? Reeeeeeally? Stop. That's where she can improve in her cosplay, if she wishes to cosplay as thin characters. Everything else is great.

Seriously, what kind of sick society do you have if you Americans are sooOoOoo quick to shout that she isn't fat, and oh somehow marceline isn't obviously drawn like a human and therefore she might be fat or something, god.

Also lol Larry Bird can't cosplay a drawf because he's too tall, right? It'd just be silly. Dwarfs aren't real, Marceline isn't real. It's silly when people extremely fatter than marceline cosplay as marceline. It ruins it, and that's all anyone notices, regardless of you morons pretending it isn't there.

Don't lose weight, do lose weight, I don't care. It doesn't impact me, and I don't think you're unattractive in the slightest. But while you're this size, cosplay as characters this size. Is that so horrible? Must we really delude ourselves?
